In the freshmen text, each unit consists of eight word parts (prefixes, roots and suffixes) that you need to learn, as well as two words that go along with each of the word parts. As the units continue, you will notice how the word parts build upon one another, and you should have greater ease in identifying unfamiliar words.

At the end of units 7-12, you will take a final exam that tests your knowledge of all six units, but NOT the six units you studied in the first half of the year.
